2. Local call is any call in the Local call collection boundry of the calling number. See tips and terms below.
3. National call is any intra or inter-state call outside of the calling number call collection boundary. National calls attract an 18c connection fee. See tips and terms below.
4. Mobile call is any call to a mobile handset on any carriers network. Mobile calls attract a 36c call connection fee. See tips and terms below.
5. International calls are all calls with an end point outside of Australia. International calls attract a 36c call connection fee. See tips and terms below.
6. Free local calls included with the plan, you will receive uncharged, untimed calls to the number of calls shown.
7. Free national call minutes with the plan, you will receive uncharged, timed national calls to the number of minutes shown.
8. Our "Ruby" plan caps your call costs at $2.00 for upto 2 hours on National calls and $2.00 for upto 20 minutes on Mobile calls.

small business

BIT.net's small business plans are unmetered, meaning your business will never get hit with either excess usage charges or slow speeds due to shaping. Small business plans are subject to a couple of conditions:

• an ABN is absolutely required for signing up
• preferred method of payment is direct debit via either a credit card or a bank account, but BPay can be selected however we do ask for 3 months of service fees up front.

fees

There are a few charges that you need to be aware of - setting up, modifying and disconnecting a phone service incurs costs from our wholesale provider that we pass on to you. These fees are different depending on whether you are setting up a new Phone connection or 'churning' one across from another provider.

new connection fee

This is a once-off charge to connect a new phone service and applies to all services connected "from scratch". This fee pays for our Service Partner to configure your line for telephone access. This fee is mutually exclusive with the fast transfer connection fee below ie. you will only need to pay one of these two fees depending on your connection type.

new connection fee (reconnect old phonee)

This is a once-off charge to connect a new phone service in a premises that has previously had a phone service "in place service". This fee pays for our Service Partner to configure your line for telephone access.

This is a once-off charge to connect your phone service and applies to all services transferred to us from other phone providers. This fee pays for our Service Partner to reconfigure your line for phone access with us.

termination fee

This is a once-off charge should you wish to disconnect your phone service prior to finishing the minimum commitment term for your connection. Naturally, this charge doesn't apply if you've stayed connected longer than the commitment term for your connection (selected when you signed up). The cost of termination depends on your minimum connection term, listed in the following table.

BIT.net provides a number of add-ons and value-adds to make your phone service more useful and valuable than ever before. Listed below are all the options available on our residential and small business phone plans, along with their respective prices.

These options can be ordered at any time after your phone service is activated with us, please contact us to have any of them added to your account.

Calling Number Display

monthly fee:	$6.00

Calling Number Display can identify who is calling you by displaying the caller's phone number. It can record the date and time of the call, plus the phone numbers of callers who hang up without leaving a message. You will need a CND compatible phone or Calling Number Display unit to use the Calling Number Display feature.

silent number

monthly fee:	$3.00

Calling Number Display can identify who is calling you by displaying the caller's phone number. It can record the date and time of the call, plus the phone numbers of callers who hang up without leaving a message. You will need a CND compatible phone or Calling Number Display unit to use the Calling Number Display feature.

muliple number & Dual Phone and Fax Line

monthly fee:	$6.00

Multiple Number & Dual Phone and Fax Line - Multiple Number gives you the ability to add another number (phone or fax) to your existing phone line that has a separate number to your existing phone line. You can also have the phone and fax calls separated on your bill by dialling a code when sending faxes.

Voice mail

monthly fee:	$6.00

When you can't take a call, let Voicemail do it for you. After callers hear your personal greeting and leave a message, you can retrieve the message and respond at a time that suits you.

Designed especially for the corporate business user in mind, BIT.net offers a full range of PSTN, ISDN and Business Voice services built on the residential concept but adding built-in business-friendly options and a commitment to provide you with stable and trouble-free connection 100% of the time.

tips and terms

At BIT.net we like to be up front about our policies as well as the terms and conditions of our service. Here are just a few points which should help clear up some of your confusion. Once again, if you have any more questions please contact us!

1. Local calls will be charge on a per call untimed basis within the local call boundary as defined by Telstra from time to time.
2. National calls will be charged on a per minute (in 1 second increments) + call connection fee within the boundary as defined by Telstra from time to time.
3. Mobile calls will be charged on a per minute (in 1 second increments) + call connection fee.
4. International calls will be charged on a per minute (in 1 second increments) + call connection fee to any end point outside of Australia

payment options

BIT.net provides a number of payment options all of which have certain conditions and parameters that are specified here. If you have any further questions about our accepted methods of payment please contact us.

automatic direct debit (credit card and bank account)

This method of payment is the easiest way to settle your account. You provide to us a signed authorisation form stating that we can directly debit either a bank account or credit card each month on the due date for the invoice in question (generally 7 days after issue). BIT.net is very careful with your payment details and will not divulge them to any third party. See our privacy policy for more information.

This is our preferred payment method as it is the most reliable and requires little to no manual reconcilliation.

BIT.net.au Home Phone is our range of products aimed at the Line Rental, Local, STD and Mobile calls for Home, Small business and Corporate customers.

We provide this service to you by leveraging the Tier one carriers through bulk purchase of line rental and talk time, passing these savings on to you the customer.

what happens to my old Phone account?

If you have selected one of our Home Phone plans (which include local calls and line rentals) then you will no longer receive a bill from your current provider (you may receive a Final bill).
